What an AMAZING Trip! Our main reason for this trip was My Grandma Alice's 80th Surprise Birthday Party, which my aunt Karen set up successfully. Alice is my father's mother. When I became pregnant with Molly I somehow got her address from my mother, contacted her and have been in touch ever since. I wanted to know family history, especially health issues. Ever since my birth and the divorce from my father my mother has not had much of a connection with that whole side of my family. Well this was my big opportunity to meet most of my aunts and uncle and an adult as well as celebrate my only living biological grandparent's birthday!
Here's a quick rundown of our trip schedule:
Thursday: Drove from Oasis, CA to Medford, OR, about 14 hours. Lunch @ Chik fil A.
Friday: Drove from Medford to Portland, about 5 hours.
Ate Lunch & Shopped @ Bob's Red Mill, then onto Astoria, Oregon, about 3 hours.

Saturday: Went for a drive out to Fort Stevens, saw sunken ship Peter Iredale. Went to Party @ 3pm, met family and had a blast.

Sunday: Went to Breakfast @ Pig n' Pancake, then spent rest of day @ Alice & Ken's home. Dinner @ Pig n' Pancake, by then we figured out that they make gluten free pancakes.

Monday: Drove from Astoria to Ridgefield, Washington about 1 3/4 hours to other Grandma & Papa's home, spent all day with them, lunch at Olive Garden.

Tuesday: Drove from Vancouver, Washington to Modesto, CA. Dinner @ Chik fil A.
Wednesday: Drove from Modesto back Home.
It was the Longest quick trip ever. Another adventure that was on my agenda: Our Cousin Cory (in-law) grew up in Castle Rock WA eating Papa Pete's Pizza, which is just north of where we were going. They just opened another location in Ridgefield recently, so he was hoping that we would bring him a Rocket Pizza (a processed meat nightmare). Therefore, I called them Monday morning had them bake one up and toss it in their freezer to be picked up later that night. Well we did accomplish the task, we brought it all the way back to So. Cal. in our trusty cooler packed with ice. I'm sure he was a happy boy, he even posted an awesome thank you note on facebook before I even delivered it to his house. You're Welcome, Cory! I hope it brought back a flood of memories.

We all had a blast, even though we were all completely exhausted! Thursday Morning it was back to school for the kids and back to work for Charlie. I unfortunately had to do laundry and rest all day, oh well.
